Bart Edwards Bart Edwards is the Pastor/Head of Staff at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. A native of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Bart earned a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2005 and a Bachelor’s degree in history and business from the University of Arkansas in 1982. Prior to accepting the call to Quaker Memorial, he served as Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, North Carolina and worked in the secular world as a quality assurance trainer and executive for manufacturing companies. His wife Suzy holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Columbia Theological Seminary and is a certified Christian Educator and a curriculum writer for the Presbyterian Church (USA). The Edwards are the parents of a son, Rollie, and a daughter Carter Lee. Suzy Edwards       Suzy is the Director of Congregational Ministries (DCM). Suzy has served the church in many capacities. She was most recently employed as the Director of Children’s and Student Ministries at First Presbyterian in Morehead City, NC. She is also a published author, writing curriculum for the PCUSA for almost ten years and writing for the devotion series Reflections. Suzy’s undergraduate work is in Education and she holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Columbia Seminary. Mary Woerner Our Bookkeeper is Mary Woerner.  Mary lives in Madison Heights and is a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church. She grew up in Pennsyvania, but has lived in Virginia for more than 26 years. She has been working as a grant post-award administrator (accountant for grants) at Sweet Briar College for almost 16 years. Before becoming an accountant (CPA), Mary spent five years in the U.S. Air Force, primarily stationed in South Korea. Mary and her husband Ric have two children: Beth and Steven. Jane Zopfi Our Office Administrator is Jane Zopfi.  Jane comes to us from Connecticut where she spent  almost 30 years in several administrative positions with the University of Connecticut. Jane and her husband, Paul, moved to the Lynchburg area in May 2016 to be closer to family.  They have two daughters, Allison and Amanda and are members of Heritage Baptist Church. Dr. Jong Hyun Kim Dr. Jong Hyun Kim, who joined Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church as director of music in 2003, conducts the Chancel and the Adult Handbell Choir and coordinates other musical activities. He also serves as professor of music and director of choral activities and director of graduate studies in music at Lynchburg College. A native of Seoul, Korea, Dr. Kim holds a doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from Michigan State University, a master of music degree in choral conducting from the Eastman School of Music, and bachelor of music and master of music degrees in composition from Chung-Ang University. Dr. Kim has been a guest conductor for many professional choirs and orchestras in the United States and Korea, including the Inchon City Chorale and the Utah Valley Symphony Orchestra and Choral Society. Dr. Kim performs frequently as a soloist and as a professional chorister, most recently with the Carnegie Hall Choral Workshop Choir and the Oregon Bach Festival Choir, both under the direction of renowned maestro Helmuth Rilling. Rose Peak Rose Peak has served as organist for Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church since 2004. A graduate of Radford University with a B.S. Degree in Music Education, Rose is a certified independent music teacher and piano instructor in Rustburg. She serves as a national adjudicator for the National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT), a division of the American College of Musicians, and is active in the American Guild of Organists, the Virginia Federation of Music Clubs and the Music Teachers National Association, and is a Hall of Fame member of the NGPT. She is a staff accompanist for Lynchburg College and is accompanist for the Lynchburg College Choral Union and the LC Concert Choir, the Jefferson Choral Society, and is chapel organist and glee club accompanist at Virginia Episcopal School. Helen Ford Helen Ford has been the Director of the Children's Choirs at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church for almost 25 years! A native of Lynchburg, Helen has a Bachelor of Music Education Degree as well as many hours of graduate-level training. She taught music in the Campbell County School System for 31 years. Helen maintains a private music studio of 20 piano and voice students, and is a frequent professional soprano soloist with classical choral groups, orchestras, and churches in Virginia. She has sung extensively all over this country as well as in England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy. Helen raised two sons at Quaker, Billy Fortune and Cory Graves.  At Quaker, Helen directs the Melody Choir for children in Grades 3-5 and the Cherub Choir for children Kindergarten - Grade 2.
